And Then There Were Four.
Last night the Galaxy clinched their spot in the Western Conference Championship for the 2nd straight year by beating Seattle Sounders FC with a 3-0 aggregate. Although Seattle was tough, they were no match for the Galaxy who scored a goal against the Sounders away from home at Qwest Field and 2 goals at the Home Depot Center yesterday evening. Props to Omar Gonzalas on a beautiful goal off a corner kick from Beckham.
Next match is this Saturday at the Home Depot Center against FC Dallas for the Western Conference Title and a spot in the 2010 MLS Cup in Toronto. My prediction would be a 2-0 win by the Galaxy over FC Dallas. FD Dallas is a scary team to play especially since their amazing winning streak during the regular season. Not to worry though, the Galaxy’s defense has been solid during the playoffs and I know they can hold off Dallas. I would love to see Juninho get a little more aggressive in this match. I didn’t see much from him last game but I know he is an asset to Los Angeles.
So who will when the Eastern Conference Championship? We’ll, no one in the Eastern Conference thats for sure. Both San Jose and Colorado made it past the only two Eastern Conference teams in the playoffs this season with solid wins. I have my money on San Jose moving through to the MLS Cup. It would be a huge turn around for that team having a few terrible seasons as an expansion team. Regardless of who makes it through, it’ll be an interesting MLS Cup. Go Galaxy!
